Did you just make the BEST granola with Big Deal Oatmeal? Yes.
Servings: Makes ~20oz granola
Time: 35 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups BIG DEAL OATMEAL
- 1/4 cup of fat (butter or coconut oil)
- 1/4 cup of sweetener (maple syrup or honey)
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
Place BIG DEAL OATMEAL in a large bowl. (OPTION: For less gritty granola, filter Big Deal Oatmeal through colander to remove excess chia and ground flax seeds.) Add fat and sweetener; mix well to incorporate.
Transfer mix to a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread mixture out to a 1/4 to 1/2 inch thickness. Form mix into a more or less solid structure without pressing too hard. This will make a granola with bigger chunks that you can break up later if you prefer.
Bake on low for 20-30 minutes rotating the pan for even toasting. Granola is done when golden brown color is just beginning to brown and the aromas are optimal.
Remove pan and allow granola to cool completely before testing for appropriate crunch. Bake a few minutes more if necessary.
Store in airtight container for up to 1 month.
